OWA spell checks part of the word
Something strange happened as I was typing an email today. I misspelled "specific" so I quickly fixed it using the spell checker. Then, it underlined the "cifi" part of the word "specific" suggesting spelling corrections as seen in the screenshot. There is no space in the word so I don't know why it focused on the part of the word (maybe because of the previous correction?). Do you know if this is an Outlook bug or an Edge bug? Not sure which spell checker is acting in OWA honestly.OldSkullMay 18, 2026Copper Contributor25Views0likes1CommentUnable to Access Scheduling Poll Options
Hi, I would like to access the Scheduling Poll options in Outlook Web so I can select "Schedule when attendees reach consensus" bot I don't see a way to access the panel. This is the option as shown in the docs https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-a-scheduling-poll-in-outlook-for-windows-34176e59-c87a-4a19-85a4-bb35050ace02 This is what i see:SolvedlightorioMay 18, 2026Copper Contributor41Views1like2CommentsNew Outlook, can I access my contacts from more than one email account?
Is there any way I can access my extensive list of contacts from more than one email address/account? Currently they are all listed under my default email address account, but I sometimes need to send to people from those contacts using a different email account. Grateful for any help. Thank you.489Views1like3CommentsCan I please get some help?
Hi, I have been trying to get access to two emails (hotmails, yes that old) I was using as a kid and over the course of time, I forgot their passwords. Ihave tried sending forms but they always instantly deny me because I cant remember any emails I sent. Because I was a kid and the only reason for having an email was to sign in to stuff. I really would like access so I can recover some accounts and finally switch emails on steam. Thank you to whoever read thisgayflanelMay 17, 2026Copper Contributor65Views0likes2CommentsNewest Outlook version doesn't open pdf in Acrobat
My Outlook was updated to the newest version a few days ago and I'm having issues with opening PDF attachments in my default PDF viewer. Before, you could click the attachment in the email and get a preview but if you were to fully open the attachment it would open in my default application. When I click on it I get this viewer instead of it going directly to Adobe PDF. If I have to download it, I would prefer to save it as a location that I choose. I can go to Acrobat and open the downloaded files, but that is extra steps. Any suggestions?DeeReinhardtMay 17, 2026Copper Contributor101KViews3likes32CommentsOutlook Notes and mobile devices

The Issue: In New Outlook, changing the "From" address after you have already started composing an email message opens a new, blank message window, forcing you to copy and paste your original message subject, contents, and attachments. This is an irritating change from Classic Outlook, where you could simply switch the sending account from a dropdown menu while keeping your drafted message fully intact. Expected behavior: When changing the "From" address while composing a mail message, it should simply be updated to the newly selected account, and the body, subject line, and any attachments of the message you are writing at that time should be preserved within the same composition window. The Classic Outlook Way (The Right Way) to Switch the "From" address: For years, my workflow in Classic Outlook has been simple. I click "New Email." The new message window opens, and the "From" field shows the currently selected account. I start writing my message. Then I realize I wanted to send it from another mail account. I click the "From" button, and a dropdown menu appears with all my accounts. I pick the one I want, and I'm good to go. The message content is untouched, it's all still there. Changing the From-address is a two-second action that is intuitive and efficient. The "New Outlook" Way (The Baffling Way) to Switch the "From" address: Now, I try to do the exact same thing in the "New Outlook." I click "New Email." The new message window opens, and the "From" field shows the currently selected account. I start writing my message. Then I realize I wanted to send it from another mail account. I click the "From" button, and a dropdown menu appears with all my accounts. I pick the one I want. But then, after choosing a different From-address, a completely blank new message is opened. And I have to copy/paste everything from the message window I was writing in before to the newly opened message window. So annoying! This feels like a classic case of simplifying the UI to the point where it loses critical functionality. What used to be a simple dropdown selection in Classic Outlook is now an irritating multi-step process in New Outlook. It seems to be an intentional design choice, but it's one that ignores the reality of how users with multiple mail accounts actually work.Paul_VCMay 16, 2026Steel Contributor833Views4likes7CommentsCopilot Changes in New Outlook
Copilot in the New Mail has recently changed to this (I have a $30/mo subscription to Copilot through a business account): If I click on the little circle thing or press Alt+i it displays this with the text below already filled in: I never start prompts to Copilot with "Help me write an email to" so I always have to manually delete this text to enter the actual prompt. Once I do that, Copilot opens the full-blown sidebar with a big discussion. And to top it off, Copilot in the sidebar does not follow the Copilot drafting instructions I saved in the Copilot settings in Outlook. This is a regression compared to how Copilot used to work, which is shown in the screen below: Granted I only ever used "Auto rewrite" in that drop down menu so you could shorten it some. However, this version is better because: (1) it does not open a large sidebar and expect me to enter into a big discussion, (2) there is no pre-existing text in the prompt box so I can press a hotkey and quickly dictate my prompt using the built-in dictation in Windows, (3) it will follow the drafting instructions I saved in the Copilot settings in Outlook, and (4) it shows the option to Auto rewrite the text. I want Copilot to work the way it used to work and, especially, for Alt+i to open up the latter menu in all situations. I understand that some people might want to engage in a big discussion in the sidebar with Copilot, but don't make that the default.dblagent007May 15, 2026Brass Contributor1View0likes0CommentsNew Outlook left navigation bar
Is it possible that Microsoft persistently ignores the requests of its customers to remove/hide the left navigation bar from the screen of the new Outlook? Recently, you configured it so that when the screen is reduced, the navigation pane—which is actually needed—disappears. Once again, you ignored the left navigation bar, which is used extremely rarely and absolutely does not belong there. People who use 13‑inch screens do not have enough space for this imposed bar. I simply do not understand such a careless and inconsiderate approach on Microsoft’s part. WHY don’t you listen to your customers? Why do you deliberately harass them with various experiments and solutions that nobody wants?VladiFiliMay 15, 2026Iron Contributor188Views0likes3Commentscannot recover a hotmail email account
Perhaps this old account was blocked as I tried to access it connected to a VPN. I haven't succeeded to recover it as I can't answer the follwing questions below : 1- For these questions you might want to ask for help from family, friends, or business contacts to confirm their email addresses and tell you the subject lines of emails you've sent them. >>>>>> I DO NOT USE THE ACCOUNT I WANT TO RECOVER FREQUENTLY SO HOW CAN I ASK HELP OF PEOPLE ?? ?? i DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS THE LAST TIME I SENT AN EMAIL FROM THIS ACCOUNT !??? 2- Email addresses of contacts you've recently sent emails to (one per text box) HOW THE HELL SHOULD I REMEMBER ?? 3- Exact subject lines of your recently sent emails (one per text box) WHAT DOES IT MEAN ?? IF I CANNOT REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS THE LAST TIME I SENT OR RECEIVED A MESSAGE , HOW SHOULD I REMEMBER THE EXACT LINES OR SUBJECT OF THE MESSAGES ? The answer sent to another email I informed the system was : Your account recovery request for xxxx*email address removed for privacy reasons : We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account xxxx*email address removed for privacy reasons. Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership. .... How the hell I will recover the account if I cannot answer those stupid questions ?? I have the password , this should be proof enough I own the bloody account.
